Who is Marios and what is he writing about?

As a kid I started playing billiards and quickly became obsessed with it.

After only a few sessions, I fell so deeply in love with the game that it was all I wanted to do as long as I was awake.

Myself about 14 years old.

I had no specific direction for where this would take me at the moment; I just enjoyed it so much and wanted to explore it as much as humanly possible.

In my endeavor to always improve, I learned many valuable lessons.

These lessons can be applied to any activity, as the required processes are quite similar.

The deeper I delved into and evolved as a player, the more interesting and demanding it became.

To become great at any skill requires mastering each stage of the process.

In pool, I spent the first years mostly focused on the technical aspect of the game.

Once this became second nature, I started paying more attention to strategy and patterns.

And when strategy was mastered, it was all about psychology and the ability to retain focus.

In my pursuit of becoming one of the best pool players in the world, I experienced many failures and successes, as well as inner conflicts that shifted my interests from pool to other topics.

I became curious about philosophy, psychology, communication, influence, and every aspect of human nature.

Everything I mentioned above had some influence on my game.

The presence of someone who doubted me affected my game.

If someone cheered me on, playing my best game was effortless.

When I was in love, I didn’t care if I lost, so I played with ten times more confidence.

After losing in a final, I couldn't sleep for two days

My game was clearly mental at this stage, and I knew that if I could control my emotions and their influence on me, I would be unbeatable.

So, I spent most of my later years searching for answers to questions such as what drives us to do the things we do, why we fail, how we can succeed, and, most importantly, what we need to feel satisfied with our lives.

In the quest for these answers, I read many books, engaged in a lot of introspection, observed and reflected on every opportunity and kept trying to invest in experiences that would translate into knowledge.

After 20 years on this journey, winning national championships and major tournaments, practicing every day for years, participating in countless high-stakes matches — both victories and losses — receiving coaching and becoming a coach, I am here to share with you my perspective and what I’ve learned about people, mindset, and psychology.

I hope you gain significant value from the upcoming articles and use it to become the champion of your life.
